To mark International Boy Child Day, ICISAT, in collaboration with JUST LISTEN – A Safe Space, organized a school outreach at Government Secondary School Mista Ali, (Mc Alley) Bassa LGA, Plateau State, reaching a number of male students and teachers.
The programme focused on mental health, responsibility, hygiene, leadership, and positive masculinity under the theme: “Raising Healthy Boys: Building Responsibility, Emotional Intelligence, and Positive Masculinity.”

Facilitators encouraged students to embrace emotional intelligence, self-discipline, healthy living, and respectful leadership. Participants also received responsibility kits containing customized keyholders, affirmation cards, and hygiene items.
Teachers described the outreach as timely and impactful, while organizers emphasized the need for continuous mentorship and safe spaces for boys to grow into responsible men.

Looking ahead, ICISAT and JUST LISTEN – A Safe Space plan to deepen their impact through recurring mentorship programmes, school-based safe space clubs, and workshops involving parents and teachers.

The organizers concluded that shaping responsible men requires intentional investment, continuous guidance, and strong community support. By combining emotional literacy with practical life education, the outreach demonstrated the importance of early interventions in building healthier families, stronger communities, and a more responsible future generation.
